Monica Larner of Wine Advocate gave excellent scores to Brunello di Montalcino di Val di Suga vintage 2015.
The results, which appeared late compared to past years due to the pandemic situation, were truly flattering:
93 points to Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Lago 2015
94 points to Brunello di Montalcino 2015
94 + points to Brunello di Montalcino Poggio al Granchio 2015
95 points to Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Spuntali 2015
The comment that preceded the individual reviews was even more gratifying:
“This is an impressive set of new releases that are linked by their energy and their vibrant fruit. The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Spuntali is just terrific. Val di Suga did not make its three single-vineyard wines (Vigna Spuntali, Poggio al Granchio and Vigna del Lago) in 2014. Nor did the estate make a 2014 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. Given that gap, these excellent wines from 2015 are well worth the wait ”.
